We offer convenient locations from the upstate of South Carolina all the way to the Myrtle Beach area.

Daily Routine Assistance vs. Activities of Daily Living

Daily routine assistance is oftentimes confused with activities of daily living, but there is a stark difference: Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is a unique set of six standards that an elderly adult should be able to perform independently or risk evaluation of being considered for long-term care communities. ADLs are generally the ability to bathe, dress, eat, use the bathroom and take care of oneself independently whereas daily routine assistance is general support for staying on track some of those activities. Daily routine assistance could also be used as a respite relief for primary caretakers who wish to pass on caretaking responsibilities 2-3 times per week.

When to Consider Daily Routine Assistance

The reality of aging is that loved ones will require some level of assistance in their life. Whether that means trips to the grocery store, getting to appointments on time or completing other small tasks. If you’re worried about your loved one and don’t have the capacity to check on them every day, our team is here to provide in-home care assistance to help check in on their wellbeing and make sure tasks are being taken care of.

A number of our patients who require daily routine assistance are patients whose family lives out of state or too far away to provide care. If you’re a family member looking for a great caretaking team to provide daily care or check in on your loved one, the team at Elite Home Care is the right team for you.
