Elite Home Care FAQ

Below is a list of the most commonly asked questions we receive. If you don’t see your question or can’t find the answers you’re looking for, we encourage you to contact us directly…no question is a bad question at Elite Home Care.

  • What are the Qualifications of your Providers?

Although they have families of their own, they have hearts big enough to treat our clients just like their own Mom or Dad.

Elite requires an initial drug test and random drug testing, 10 year SLED check, and successful completion of the Caregiver Training University courses which does include Alzheimer's and dementia care training.

Care providers also receive hands-on training in the use of lifts and gate belts by medical professionals. In addition, many caregivers have First Aid, CPR and CNA certifications.

All staff members are covered by workers' compensation and liability insurance.

  • What are the Payment Options for Services?

    Options for payment include:

Private Pay - many clients private pay as Elite serves with a very competitive hourly rate.

Those who have Long Term Care Insurance will find that Elite is a licensed, approved provider.  (Assistance with activating a Long Term Care Insurance Policy is available.)

Veteran Medical Benefit - qualifying veterans can apply through their local VA medical clinic or hospital for the HHA (home health aid) benefit or Medical Adult Day Health center benefit.   (Always choose Elite as provider)

Vouchers awarded through the Area Agency on Aging - a limited amount of assistance is available to qualifying applicants for respite vouchers that can pay for some day center or home care services.

The Alzheimer's Association offers a program of vouchers, usually in conjunction with the Area Agency on Aging. (Elite is an Approved provider.)

For those already enrolled in the CLTC (Community Long Term Care) Medicaid program, Elite is a provider for PCI, PCII, Respite and Companion care.

(For assistance with applying for financial aid, please contact the Elite Community Resource Liaison today).

Individuals who are over 18 with special care needs may request day center, home care or transportation through their case manager with the  ID/RD Waiver or Community Supports Waiver.  The HASCI waiver is accepted for home care with Elite.

  • What Days & Times are Services Available?

Elite Day Centers operate from 7:30am to 5:15pm  Monday through Friday with a Registered Nurse, administrative staff, member assistants and drivers available to meet client needs.

  • Do you Provide Care in Nursing Homes & Assisted Living Communities?

Elite Caregivers can definitely provide care in an assisted living facility or nursing home if the facility allows.  Elite would provide to the facility necessary documentation for caregivers.

  • How Does In-Home Care Compare to Assisted Living?

We work in conjunction with a lot of assisted living communities, and they are the right choice for a lot of people. However, since assisted living is NOT covered by Medicare it must be paid for out of pocket and can be a very big monthly expense for many people.

With a personal caregiver through Elite Home Care you are in control of the costs since our clients decide how many hours of care they need rather than paying for services you may not need at an Assisted Living. Elite Home Care has numerous registered nurses on staff to help facilitate quality care and oversee care plans.

Another difference is one of the most important reasons that families choose Elite Home Care, an assisted living community has to manage the needs of many residents with their staff spreading their time among many different people with varying needs. The most valuable benefit of our service is that our client has one caregiver to tend to all needs. Our client is our caregiver’s only priority.

  • How Does the Care Schedule Work & is it Flexible?

A lot of thought and consideration has gone into everything we do to try and make our process as easy as possible for our clients and their families. We have dedicated professionals working to make sure all of our schedules are set to our client’s exact requests and we make every attempt to meet last minute requests.

We never require our clients to sign any long term contracts, and our team is available to help accommodate any schedule changes by phone. We even have an online system for clients and their families to use to monitor scheduling.

  • How do I get Started & What is that Process?

All you have to do is give us a call, and we will help answer any questions you have; or if you prefer, please fill out an online request for us to give you a call back at a time of your choosing.
