We like to think of our day centers as a communal space to receive daily care, but we don’t offer overnight accommodations. We also provide in-home care services, which means we send DHEC professionals to your home to help with everyday tasks like personal care and companion care. In that regard, Elite Home Care is more like a skilled nursing facility than assisted living.

What is Assisted Living?

Assisted living is for people who need help with daily care, but not as much help as a true nursing home provides. When you sign up for an assisted living facility, you are usually signing up for a high level of care every day, but also maintain independence by living in your own apartment on-site. Assisted living is, essentially, personalized care in a residential setting.

When we talk about assisted living, we like to compare it to college dorm style living, but for the elderly. Assisted living residents usually live in their own apartments on premises but share common spaces to connect with each other. Assisted living is a great way to receive a high-level of care, fresh meals, 24-hour supervision and support and recreational activities with similar individuals in one place.
