Frequently Asked In-Home Care Questions

Proudly Serving Spartanburg, Greenville, And Upstate, SC

Below is a list of the most commonly asked questions we receive. If you don’t see your question or can’t find the answers you’re looking for, we encourage you to contact us directly…no question is a bad question at Elite Home Care.

What Are The Qualifications Of Your Providers?

Although they have families of their own, they have hearts big enough to treat our clients just like their own Mom or Dad.  We require our staff to have random drug screening, SLED background checks, Specialized Alzheimer’s and Dementia training, First Aid and CPR certification as well as 8 specialty courses taught by our Registered Nurses to keep skills up to date. We like to think of our caregivers like a member of your extended family that has some medical training. All of our staff are also covered by our liability and workers comp insurance while working in your home.

What Are The Payment Options for Services?

Our services are paid at an hourly rate and the majority of our clients pay privately for our services. Elite Home Care is also a preferred provider for most Long Term Care Insurance providers. In fact, we can even bill the insurance company directly for our clients, eliminating a lot of time and stress of dealing with an insurance policy. We are providers for both VA programs for our veterans and we also accept vouchers from the Alzheimer’s Association and the SC Agency on Aging. For those families already enrolled in Community Long Term Care (CLTC) we are a provider for both Personal Care I and II.

What Days & Times Are Services Available?

We understand that your needs are not limited to 9 to 5. That’s why our caregivers are available 24hours a day 7 days a week including holidays. We also keep an RN supervisor on call 24/7 if you ever need to call us for any reason.

Do You Provide Care in Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Communities?

Yes, while the majority of our clients still live in their house, a large percentage call a senior living community home. Since we are DHEC licensed just like the facilities we work very well together and can coordinate with the facility to offer the most comprehensive care plan and give our 1 one on 1 time with an Elite Caregiver.

How Does In-Home Care Compare To Assisted Living?

We work in conjunction with a lot of assisted living communities, and they are the right choice for a lot of people. However, since assisted living is NOT covered by Medicare it must be paid for out of pocket and can be a very big monthly expense for many people. With a personal caregiver through Elite Home Care you are in control of the costs since our clients decide how many hours of care they need rather than paying for services you may not need at an Assisted Living. Many people are surprised to find that many assisted living communities do not have a dedicated RN on staff, while at Elite Home Care we have at least one on call 24/7.

Another difference is one of the most important reasons that families choose Elite Home Care, an assisted living community has to manage the needs of many residents with their staff spreading their time among many different people with varying needs. The most valuable benefit of our service is that our client has one caregiver to tend to all needs. Our client is our caregiver’s only priority.

How Does The Care Schedule Work & Is It Flexible?

A lot of thought and consideration has gone into everything we do to try and make our process as easy as possible for our clients and their families. We have 2 people dedicated to working to make sure all of our schedules are set to our client’s exact requests and we make every attempt to meet last minute requests. We never require our clients to sign any long term contracts and our team is available to help accommodate any schedule changes by phone and we even have an online system for clients and their families to use monitor scheduling.

How Do I Get Started & What Is That Process?

All you have to do is give us a call and we will help answer any questions you have or if you prefer please fill out an online request for us to give you a call back at a time of your choosing.

We are very proud to announce that we are the only provider in the region who is fully licensed by DHEC and we look forward to continuing to serve the community and providing the best care for our clients.
